Film screenings, workshops and events at Holloway Arts Festival

This year’s Holloway Arts Festival features an exciting selection of film screening events, workshops and Q&As. Join us on the 1st June for Reel Islington’s First Friday Film Club screening of ‘Festival’ directed by Annie Griffin, and introduced by Anthony Aldersone, Director of the Pleasance Theatre. Other highlights include a guide to storing, cataloguing and presenting your family film and video footage, presented by Paul Sherreard of the London Metropolitan Archives. And on the 10th of June, the Holloway Arts Festival will be taking over Platform for an exciting day of performance, film and workshop events for all ages and abilities.

After a hugely successful programme at the Reel Islington Film Festival, Meet the Professionals is back and is better than ever. We have lined up an amazing array of professionals at various stages of their career in the arts world. Each one hour session will give the chance to learn more about their field of expertise and give members of the public the opportunity to ask directly any questions they may have.

Sunday the 10th of June line-up:

  • 3pm – 4pm: Artist and Film-maker David Blandy
  • 5pm - 6pm: Film Composer and pianist Stephen Daltry

Animating Holloway

FREE ANIMATION PROJECT FOR 9-14 YEAR OLDS - only 12 spaces available

Saturday 2 June 3 - 5 pm Introductory Session at Mayton Street Festival
Wednesday 6 - Saturday 9 June 10.30am -4.30pm at The Old Fire Station (see map)

We are looking for 12 young people to be involved in an exciting project to create a stop motion animation for a new website about Holloway. You will learn about developing concepts, story boarding, designing and creating characters and backgrounds, animating scenes, interviewing, recording voice overs and sound effects.

The final film will be screened at Platform on Sunday 10 June as part of Holloway Arts Festival 2012
