Children’s Events and Activities at Holloway Arts Festival

Highlights include festival favourite, poet John Hegley and special guest Aoife Mannix who will be urging an audience of all ages to bring out their inner child, puppet workshops from Hit Gelamp and tall tales from storytellers One Moment in Time. A wonderful assortment of animations and films made by and for young people will be screened at the Islington Reels Gala Screening. All the festival outdoor events have workshops specifically for toddlers, create fantastic feathered flying machines at the Mayton Street Festival, make wonderful windmills and beautiful butterflies at Big Day Out and enjoy the Monster Shop Craft Club at the Friends of the Royal Northern Gardens Under 5's picnic.


Mayton Street Festival 2012

On Saturday 2nd June you will find Mayton Street and the Old Fire Station filled with artists, activities and events.

Dance to live music, design your own hat, drink tea and eat cake at our Jubilee tearoom or simply just come down and soak up the atmosphere at what promises to be the best free street party in North London this summer.

Mayton Street Festival is organised in partnership with Holloway Neighbourhood Group.

A wonderful assortment of animations and films made by and for young people, sharing their experience of life in the 21st century. This year’s selection includes Wake Up! A short film by children from Grafton Primary School, the experimental documentary Lives on Screen filmed on the Cornwallis estate in Holloway and ‘The Stories of Five Olympic Circles’ an animation made by one hundred and forty children from the London borough of Islington and the pupils of the Czech School without Borders, London.
