The Festival in 2007 offered a feast of entertainment for all ages at local venues, including arts and crafts, music, dance, film, literature and theatre.
The sun shone down on the Big Day Out in Whittington Park was a great success and over 2,000 people came along to enjoy the entertainment and activities. Children took pat in a carnival procession on the theme of 'funky junk' wearing costumes they had made in workshops. The entertainment included Fred's Flying Circus and clown Mr Pineapple Head as well as a range of music on the main stage and lots of arts and crafts activities.
Other events included a poetry readings from Michael Rosen and John Hegley, poetry writing with Paul Lyalls, classical music concerts, films courtesy of Reel Islington Screenings and a Connecting Conversations event with author Lionel Shriver.
